Kilburn and Queens Park
Kilburn borders on Westminster and Camden. To the south you have Maida Vale, north is Cricklewood and Willesden, west is the way to Queens Park and east is
Camden.
The main street of Kilburn is Kilburn High Rd,
which is the road that will take you North to the
M1 motorway and the North Circular.
Kilburn High Rd is a hustle and bustle of people
from every nation under the sun and the traffic
flow more often than not, at a virtual standstill.
I will begin at Kilburn Station which is on the
Jubilee Line at the northern end of the High Rd
and walk south to Maida Vale. Just past the station
on the right, is an oriental restaurant/wine bar called "Angeles"the food is Chinese and Thai, vegetarian, meat and fish and you can eat as much
as you like for a set price. Keep walking and on the right before you reach
Brondesbury Station there is a pub/diner called the"North London Tavern" and
opposite there, two pubs "Powers Bar" a small place that has live music most nights. Next
door to Powers is the "Brondes Age" they serve decent food and the clientele is international.

Continue along the High Rd, past Brondesbury Station there is "Small and Beautiful" an Italian Restaurant, further along you will find "Nandos Chicken Restaurant". Also on the
right is the "The Luminaire" the main rock venue of Brent and NW London. Next door are
two pubs "McGoverns" an Irish pub and "The Kilburn" serving good food and beer.

Keep on along the High Rd and you will see the "Good Ship"
a new bar recently opened. On the right is the "Black Lion"
which has an amazing interior. The side road next to the Black Lion takes you to Grange Park a quiet retreat from the mayhem of Kilburn High Rd. Quite often the park is used for musical and
other events. The side of the road that the park is on is actually Camden, a strange feature of Kilburn High Rd is, the west side
is in Brent and the east side is in Camden, Brent traffic wardens
dress in black and the green ones are Camden, they are ruthless.
" Beware of these highway robbers they only want your money"
It's a long road Kilburn High Road, especially if you visit some of the many watering holes mentioned on this page, look opposite the Black Lion and at last you will find some traditional culture the Tricycle Theatre and Cinema complex. Your only chance to see a film or visit the
theatre in the whole of Kilburn and Queen's Park.
